Global UiO

  • We are ranked as no 55 on the list of the world's most international universities
  • 30 percent of the academic staff are from abroad.

A globally engaged university

Many of the 21st century’s global challenges associated with areas such as climate, energy, health, poverty and violation of human rights observe neither disciplinary boundaries nor geographic borders.

UiO aims to make a significant contribution to the knowledge base that is needed in order to address the major global challenges of today.

How can a university best contribute to reaching the Sustainable Development Goals? The University of Oslo’s research leads to new knowledge and innovations. However, our students make the greatest long-term impact for society.
