Hylleraas Centre for Quantum Molecular Sciences develops and applies methods to simulate complex molecular systems interacting with fields and radiation.
CanCell is a research centre that aims at uncovering the “Achilles’ heels” of cancer cells and target these for reprogramming cancer cells into harmless cells.
The primary goal of RoCS lies in understanding the workings of the energetic Sun. To attack this goal a concerted effort of numerical modelling, both fluid and particle oriented, is combined with high quality observations, taken at ground based and space based observatories, to produce models of the active Sun.
RITMO is an interdisciplinary research centre focused on rhythm as a structuring mechanism for the temporal dimensions of human life. The research will be highly interdisciplinary, combining methods from musicology, psychology and informatics to study rhythm as a fundamental property that shapes and underpins human cognition, behaviour and culture
The goal of the cross-disciplinary international Hybrid Technology Hub is to develop an open source “organ on a chip” platform that reproduces core functionalities of the human body and allows real time data acquisition upon exposure to therapeutic reagents. A current focus is on energy metabolism regulating organs.
Today’s global mobility and technological advancements lead to increased cultural and linguistic flows and exchanges. MultiLing will generate state-of-the-art scientific knowledge on the linguistic consequences of globalization. The Center’s vision is to contribute to how society can deal with the opportunities and challenges of multilingualism through increased knowledge, promoting agency for individuals in society, and a better quality of life, no matter what linguistic and social background. MultiLing is led by Elizabeth Lanza.
At NORMENT we strive to find answers to why some people develop perceptual disturbances, delusions, deep depressions or elated, manic phases. NORMENT is led by Ole A. Andreassen.
The primary research objective of PluriCourts is to analyze and assess the legitimate present and future roles of the cascade of international courts and tribunals (ICTs) - an emerging global judiciary – in the international and domestic order. The centre is led by Geir Ulfstein.
Centre for Earth Evolution and Dynamics (CEED) aims to explore the mechanisms that link volcanism and near-surface deformation with deep Earth processes. A main hypothesis to be tested is that mantle plumes are generated at the core-mantle boundary, probably from the edges of huge domains called "Large Low Shear wave Velocity Provinces" (LLSVP). CEED is led by Carmen Gaina.
